Katwijk is a pleasant Dutch seaside town on the South Holland coast, popular for its beach and promenade.
By plane β nearest airports
- Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) β the main international gateway. From Schiphol you can drive or take train + bus to Katwijk.
- Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTM) β smaller, fewer international flights; possible but usually requires more connections (train to Leiden/Den Haag + bus/taxi).
- The Hague / Eindhoven β make sense only in special itineraries; Schiphol is usually the most convenient for Katwijk.

- Train to Leiden Centraal β from Schiphol or Amsterdam Central take an NS train to Leiden Centraal (frequent services)
- Bus from Leiden to Katwijk β change at Leiden Centraal and take a local bus (frequent services operated by Qbuzz / Arriva, e.g. lines serving Katwijk such as the 400/430/431 depending on route/time). The bus ride is typically ~15 minutes.
- Arrival points in Katwijk β buses stop near the boulevard, town centre and Gemeentehuis (town hall); check the final stop for your hotel or beach spot.
- Schiphol β Leiden by train: ~20β30 min
